The Docking Station

The docking station is an essential element of the infrastructure of battery charge- an swap-stations for small vessels. This docking console is not only the element on the boat on which the swappable battery is clicked on and from where out the energy from the battery is linked through to the electric motor. It is also the device for the network members to be registered. It is of uttermost importance that this element of the infrastructure is designed with ingenuity and with concern for the production. Compared to the swappable battery pack and the charge- and swap station the docking station is the element that will be produced in the highest quantities. As well it is the element that will stressed the most by usage and by wheather.
In a system of waterways one could call the docking stations the locks: their reliability has prime importance.

For the demonstration of the prototypes, next to the real battery packs, three dummies had been manufactured (see above) to be able to showcase the action of the battery swap in a better way. For the docking stations such dummies would not be workable, not even for demonstration purposes.
The mechanically and electrically workable versions of the docking station prototypes are now about to be further developed to be able to showcase the electro-technical and electronical functions under real conditions. For this a joint venture had been eloborated with the brand new startup company Battmen Ltd (see battmen.nl).
